The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a long one-act musical comedy conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin and additional material by Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling beeset in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. The story is about a group of six-graders arrives at the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, each person all have different kind of special place and eager to win for very different reasons. Olive was a sweet but shy person, she brings only her best friend, which was a dictionary with her to the bee.  William Barfee was a bold and hyperallergic speller who uses his “magic foot” to propel him to greatness. former champion Chip was struggling with his burgeoning puberty. Leaf, who easily distracted was unconvinced that he’s smart enough to be a challenger. Overachiever Marcy was disappointed by her consistent success. Last but not least, Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre only wants to impress her gay dads. The show give people a feeling of hilarious, touching, with catchy songs. Each speller telling his/her hopes, struggles, and passions as they make their way through the competition.
From the basic imformation, we could found out that there were many different kind of characters setting in the show. Usually when we watch a play like this, it will only have one or two important characters to bring over the whole story. However, this contain many characters in order to made the show became more interesting or I will say vivid. Beside the setting of the characters, one thing that different than the normal show it was a musical show, which mean the show will probably most present in a form of song. This not only make the show became more lively, but also won’t felt dull and boring when they watch it.

Do you agree or disagree with this plan?

Field trip, a way of education for student to learn new things. It usually teach students new knowledge by showing them the real example, such as visit a museum or go to a movie trip...etc. However, schedule a field trip might cause 3 times more money than learning in the classroom. This make the money that Cheshire Academy have decrease with a unpredictable speed. School could use their money on other things rather than a field trip, such as facilities, food, Wi-Fi...etc. Cheshire Academy should cancel the plan for field trip, because they can use these money to improve our living condition.

One of the reason why Cheshire academy should cancel the field trip is because student won't take it serious. When there is a field trip coming up, most of the students only think about they don't have class but not an opportunity for learning. Some students even think they should have just stay in the room instead of going outside and wasting their time. I'm not saying that field trip isn't helpful for student, but they didn't take it as a chance for them to learning new things. In my eye, bring those people to a place that they don't like is like wasting money. If we save that money up, we can use those money to improve our condition of campus. Even more, become one of the best campus in the state of Connecticut.

Beside the students didn't take the opportunity to learn. Schedule a field trip required certain kind of time and lots of human power. When the school decide to make a field trip, they will need to start to schedule one month ago. They need to contact the place that they plan to visit, and also having over 10 times meeting with all of the teachers to explain about the purpose of the field trip and how will the plan goes. To done all of these meeting it will definitely spend over 2 months to finish it, which spend a lot of time in a teacher point of view. Human power also consider as a huge reason because let the whole school visit a place is something that can't be control by one or two teachers. Field trip will required all the teachers to join in order to control this over 400 students group. It won't be an easy job for the teacher nor the people who work at there, so if a field trip required that much power and time, the school should just cancel it.

As we can know having a field trip might cause lots of money and time. This will not only mess up the teacher's schedule but also decrease the money that Cheshire Academy have. Beside, not every students in the school enjoy the process of field trip, even worst, they think it is waste of time. Then why didn't we cancel all the trips we have and save those money to get a better living conditions for our students?

Gregory, the Cat

My nice gray Persian cat Gregory has pride and grace. Whenever he walked, he slowly lifts and lowers each paw, just like a dancer. His pride didn’t show in his appearance. He would like to spend his time for watching television in order to make him become fat.
TV commercials, one of his favorite show. He most enjoy watching the advertisement for Meow Mix and 9 Lives. He always like to have the most expensive cat food after he done his cat food commercials. Remember, he only accept the high quality cat food. Gregory become a picky visitors about what he eats. This make him didn’t have many friends. He may snuggle up against your ankle, begging to be petted, or he may go crazy and bite you. The reason why he do this is not to establish his territory, as many cat experts think, but to humiliate me because he get jealous of my friends. After my guests went back to their home, I look at the adorable old fleabag snoozing and smiling to himself in front of the TV, and I can't not to forgive him for the obnoxious, but interesting behavior he does

Who won the Best~

Everyone have a really interesting or twisting story, however, if I need to pick the top three from our class they will be Sera’s “The unusual”, Amanda’s “The Witch”, and Zen’s “Wind”

I think Sera’s writing could be the top place in our class. She have a really clear introduction with descrive how is the object looks like or what is the feeling that it give. The way she describe are just like describing a person but not a object. It is just like that person is very scary and mystery. The ward she used was also vivid, such as “ Its age and color were the main factors for it to frighten other people” She describe the special place by not just telling the reader about it but kind of bend the meaning to let the reader to guess, which I think is really good for reader when they read the story. At the middle and last part of the story, the object seems to become more like one of the little boy’s treasure because he start to protact it, or I should say he like it. This is also count as one type of twist because at first the boy didn’t like it but he like it at the end which is totally opposite. There are many twist in the story and the ward are also vivid, that is why she can be the first place in the class.

Second story I like is Amanda’s “The Witch” When I first read it, I’m kind of confus about what is she talking about in the story. I’m not sure she is talking about the room or the weather. The reason why I will say that is because at the middle part she wrote that the room become cold and freezing. At that moment, I was thinking about the weather is very cold, but she is talking about the witch make her feel cold when she saw the face. After reading servial time, I finally understand what she try to say. I like the one sentence she use to turn the story. At first I think it is not complete and make it not smooth at all, but after understand her writing style I realize it is a really good sentence to divide her story into two part. It is just like a turning point and now I think that is a very interesting way of writing story.

Thrid place I will give to Zen’s story “Wind” He use lots of repeat sentences in his writing, I almost think that the reason why he do that is because he want to make more word count. However, while I reading forward I found out that it is very interesting and his writing was more like a poem. He describe wind as her and give the wind action or emotion that only people will do, which we called is personification in grammar. I really like it because he give a twist story by let people think he was talking about a person but is a weather. Everything is perfect but according to Ms.Guarino “Wind is not warm during winter time.” That is the only place he should change! :D
